Here is a quote from the son of the late comic artist Basil Wolverton:
"Human Interest Stuff" engages me on a gut level with at least two of my favorite themes: Dogs and the questioning of authority. Beyond this, William Messner-Leob's elegant but vigorous artistic realization and Rodney Schroeter's adroit literary adaptation of Albert Payson Terhune's short story work together to make a robust graphic narrative. And it's refreshingly nonviolent and upbeat. Give it a read in the morning and you'll feel good all day. -- Monte Wolverton

And here is an endorsement from the greatest painter of the 20th Century (that's not just my opinion; it's a fact):
"Really enjoyed your comic book adaptation. It really took off. Very well done!" -- James Bama

Nuclear blast-level protection:
Well, I’ll admit that’s a bit hyperbolic, but one of my eBay customers once said the same type of packaging I used for the comic book he’d purchased from me would survive such trauma. Needless to say, safe from any Postal Authority short of an extreme psychotic. Secured in a plastic comic-magazine bag; placed between two pieces of cardboard; mailed in a flat, fold-in cardboard box (all shipping materials are new). “Please do not bend” stickers attached, but they are almost certain not needed. Please note: With this cardboard box, one copy can be sent First Class; a 2nd copy tips the weight over the precipice into Priority Mail. See Flat-rate Priority Envelope options, below.
1 copy: $9.10 total. ($4.00 + $1.79 protective materials + $3.31 shipping)

Alternate cover version!
Yes, we’re playing that marketing game so beloved to comics collectors. 300 copies (10% of the print run) has an alternate back cover, and three alternate interior pages. Whereas most publishers charge more for an alternate version, we’re not, because the differences between the regular and alternate version are rather trivial. So, if you want just an alternate version (1 copy), the price is the same as 1 copy anywhere above. If you want two copies, and you want an “original” version plus an alternate, that’s the same as two copies, any shipping option you choose above. (While they last, folks!)

But.... ah ha!!! --if you want the special, 2-pack, limited-to-100 copies, signed-and-numbered-by-Rodney Schroeter edition of the original / alternate pack, that’s where we’ll get your extra money. That will be $15.00 post-paid (Priority). That includes one copy of the regular version (signed by RS), and one copy of the alternate version (signed by RS).
At this time, #4 of 100 has been sold, leaving 96 copies of this edition available.

Photos here!

Comics artist and writer Bill Messner-Loebs (left) and Rodney Schroeter (right) hold a copy of Human Interest Stuff, the comic magazine they created together. The two visited Burmesch Variety Store in Random Lake, where Human Interest Stuff is available for sale. John Burmesch looks on from behind the soda fountain counter. Messner-Loebs, who lives in Michigan, and Schroeter were on their way to the Lakefly Literary Conference in Oshkosh, where they gave presentations on how the collaborated to create the comic book. They also appeared at a comic book shop in Appleton, where Messner-Loebs signed comics he'd written, including The Flash and Wonder Woman. Human Interest Stuff is also available at the Candy Tree in Kewaskum. Photo taken May 8, 2013. It appeared in the May 16, 2013 Random Lake Sounder.
